Mom Quotes

Just thought I'd list some the things my mom says to me the most....

NO!

Stop it!

Jupe, go poop!

You're not in a growth spurt, you ARE a growth spurt.

Are you really STILL hungry?!

Be a lovey puppy. (usually said while scratching my ears or rubbing my tummy!)

That does not belong to you!

Where's your monkey?

This thing has seen better days. (usually said after finding my monkey)

Jupiter, you do this OUTSIDE!

Good boy!

These are white pants!

Let go! LET GO!

I just love my Jupie! (my favorite)

Look At Me Now!!

I am growing!!!!

I weigh 27 pounds now!
I'm really just a big baby, though...
with a really looong tongue...
And silly ears...

And sweet puppy-dog eyes...

Busy, Busy, Busy

Whew! I've had a busy weekend!

On Saturday I went to Sprewell Bluff with my family, and I showed my family how much I LOVE water! I jumped right in, splashing and biting at the river, and I even swam around a little in the deeper parts. My mom wouldn't let me swim too much, though, because the river was up and the current was too strong for a little pup like me.

When we got home, I got my first bath. I'm too big for the sink, so mom washed me in the shower. She used a wonderful smelling tea tree shampoo, but I still prefer the perfume of a good, dirty sock. Socks don't just smell good, they taste good, too!

Then on Monday I got to meet my new neighbors! They are three classy ladies - Jenny, Bellanna, and Muffin. They also have three people, and I really like the short one best. He's fun!

An Outing!

I went on an outing today - to the vet with my mom. Dr. Caldwell was very nice, and I didn't have to have any shots today. I weigh 18.6 pounds! Dr. Caldwell said I am about 10 weeks old, and I will be a very big boy.

My mom told the vet that I had already learned to "sit", and that we are working on "lay down". Dr. Caldwell thinks we should work on "chew", since I swallowed the treats he gave me whole!

Dr. Caldwell also told my mom what the funny black and white mark on my tail is. He said it is a genetic holdover from a scent gland that my wolf ancestors had on their tails. Mom did some research, and it's called a precaudal scent gland, or violet gland. Neat!

I think I have the best vet in the world!

New Name?

My mom just loves to take my picture! But she always has to take it standing over me since I try to eat the camera every time she crouches down, hehe.

My first night in my new home was comfy, but a little lonely. My mom tried to put me in a box beside her bed, but I quickly figured out how to jump out. Then she put me on the bed and I loved it! But then I kept trying to eat hers and Dad's feet so that didn't work out either. Then they put me in my kennel for the first time. I had a blanket and my toys, but it just wasn't as great as the bed. I cried for a few minutes, but I had my sisters and brother to keep me company so I soon fell asleep.

I met a neighbor today on one of the many times Mom took me outside to use the bathroom. I'm trying really hard to get the hang of going outside, and my mom is really proud of me. When I have an accident in the house she doesn't even get mad. She just cleans it up.  I like to help her with the mop, and I even take on the vacuum! I also like to help with the laundry.

I have been a little confused today. At first I was told my name was Jupiter, but I really think it must be "NO".

Finally, I have discovered one of my favorite things to do.....

Sprawl out on the cool linoleum!

My brother likes it too!

Wags and kisses,
Jupiter (aka, NO)

I've Been Adopted!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!

My name is Jupiter and I was adopted today! I spent the weekend in the local animal shelter after someone decided they couldn't keep me. Boy, that was a roller coaster ride! I arrived at the shelter on Thursday, and met my new mom on Friday. Out of all the dogs at the shelter, she picked me! But she couldn't bring me home until today because of my surgery Friday night (they said I was "snipped", whatever that means).

My new mom and dad picked me up this morning and brought me to my new home. I walked right in like I owned the place! I met my new fur brother and sisters, and they are great! I have a big brother named Brodie, a big sister named Snowy, and another bossy big sister named Sadie. I also have a kitty sister named Willow. Brodie has been playing with me all day!

My mom and dad took me to a place called PetSmart and let me pick out some toys, but I got sidetracked sniffing a lady's feet. She was there with her two puppies and she was wearing sandals, and I thought her toes smelled great. The lady at the cash register said I've got a lot of growing to do if I'm going to grow into my big feet, and she gave me a biscuit! I also went to a place called school to get my non-furry sisters, Issy and Emmy. They are so much fun!

Mom and Dad have been taking lots of pictures of me today. I can tell they love me a lot from all of the hugs and kisses I've been getting. I've also been getting lots of treats, and I got to go for my first walk around the neighborhood on a leash. My mom taught me how to sit today, but sometimes it's hard to pay attention. Mom and Dad said I need to learn to use the bathroom outside, and said I need to learn to stop play-biting the humans. They always tell me "no" when I get too rough.

I really love my new family and I am so happy to have a home!!
